Congratulations Dustin! I started using Memcached about 3 months ago and I'm just absolutely amazed at how well it performs, and how easy it was to integrate into an application. That's not to say there isn't some work with any caching solution, but there are very few instances where I've used a piece of software and then thought to myself, "Hey, that worked pretty darn well (sigh of relief)."

Hi dustin, I use binary protocol with memcache version 1.4 still not setup a client ...default connection factory works fine

With regards to the amazon machine instance it would be great if you could outline exactly the steps taken to update to the base amazon image so that the paranoid among us can recreate it.

Yes, some people do use Windows and do find it providing better performance than Linux.
